According to Vancouver Coastal Health, drinking water and having a balanced diet is key to reducing the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, some cancers and high blood pressure.

In this photo-series, many Langara students brought food from home. Laura Cullen, chair of Langara’s nutrition management program said this could be because “they know what’s in it, and it saves money. Eating out is not cheap.”

Check out this photo gallery of what students are eating, and how to make it your own!

It would be great if the Voice could do an article that compares the food available in the cafeteria to the healthy eating habits that the college is trying to promote. About 4 years ago there was a push to try to improve the quality of the food in the cafeteria but it seems like all they really did was add a pretty pathetic salad bar.
