Brittany Whitmore, a young entrepreneur in Vancouver, is proving to be a mentor for independent, young, business women, who want to make a positive impact on society.

Whitmore is best known in Vancouver for creating TEDxGastownWomen, which she founded in 2015.  This year, the event was held on Oct. 29, 2016, on Main in Downtown Vancouver.  After graduating from Langara in 2014, Whitmore has held a busy schedule while, perfectly representing the chosen theme at TEDxGastownWomen that was “Power.”  Langara College helped shaped the career path that Whitmore has worked extremely hard for she said.

“Langara was so important for me. I had spent years before that as a professional model working here [Vancouver] and in Europe,” Whitmore said. “In that industry, my voice was not that important.”

“One of the things I’ll never forget, one instructor saying ‘Have an opinion. People are gonna hire you because you have an opinion’.”
