Vancouver mayoral candidates are coming to Langara College on Oct. 22.

A debate will be hosted in the college’s cafeteria from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will include all five candidates that have declared intentions to run in the November election: Bob Kasting, Independent: Gregor Robertson, Vision Vancouver; Kirk LaPointe, Non-Partisan Association; Meena Wong, Coalition of Progressive Electors and Colin Shandler, Independent.

Accompanying hosts to Langara, the Globe and Mail, will be livestreaming the debate on their website and The Voice will be liveblogging the event. Globe and Mail veteran staff reporter and Langara alumnus, Garry Mason, will be moderating the debate. A panel consisting of Charlie Smith, editor at the Georgia Straight; Frances Bula, chair of the Langara department of journalism; Ash Kelly, journalism student, will ask the candidates questions that have been submitted by Langara students and reviewed by the moderators and panel members.

A full story on the mayoral debate will be posted on The Voice website today. Follow our liveblog here.
