Langara students can see Studio 58’s final production of the season for free. The play previews Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22 at 8 p.m. and students can can see both performances for free by presenting their student I.D.
Balm in Gilead, by Lanford Wilson and directed by Studio 58’s Bob Frazier, tells the story of an ensemble of characters in New York, hoping to create connections amidst life in the big city.
“It’s about survival and belonging, ” says set designer Naomi Sider.
The audience is treated to an “immersive experience,” says Sider. Instead of watching the action from afar, they are seated on stage, with the performers while the action takes place.
